The Belarusian Literature in English Translations ("Беларуская літаратура ў англійскіх перакладах") project has been implemented by the Yanka Kupala Central Public Library (Minsk, Belarus) with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO and Moscow UNESCO Office. This project seeks to widen the world's access to the works of Belarusian literature.

The CD chronologically and alphabetically lists 500 works of 100 Belarusian writers, translated into English. The texts are presented in both English and Belarusian. Some of the poems include two English variants in order to give the reader a broader view of the possible translations.

The CD's design follows the format of a website in which all texts are saved as PDF files which can be read with Adobe Reader. The latest version of Adobe Reader can be downloaded from Adobe web-site.

The compilers of the CD hope that it will become another input into intercultural dialogue, furthering the awareness of the literature of Belarus.
